Homemade Garlic Bread

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This is a recipe that I had been wanting to try for ages. But I was always put off by the thought that it would be too complicated. How wrong was I? It is one of the easiest recipes out there and tastes better than anything in the shops. So try it! I promise you won't be disappointed.

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Baguette
2. Fresh Parsley
3. Fresh Garlic
4. Butter
5. Salt

Bismillah, let's begin!

The first job is to preheat the oven to Gas Mark 6.

The first ingredient is a handful of fresh parsley.

Next, the most important ingredient, 3 cloves of garlic.

Peel the garlic cloves, and then with the parsley, crush to make a paste.

Next, take 2 tablespoons of softened butter.

Stir the butter into the garlic and parsley paste. Season with a pinch of salt.

Take a baguette.

Place the baguette onto an ovenproof tray that has been lined with foil. Slice the baguette diagonally to give those distinctive garlic bread slices.

Spread a little of the garlic and parsley butter onto each slice.

Then, join the baguette back together.

Wrap the baguette in the foil that was lining the tray.

Bake in the oven at Gas Mark 6 for 10 minutes. Then, remove and unwrap the foil. Place back in the oven to brown for a further 2 minutes.

Serve straight away as these are best fresh. A tip from my mother if you have leftover garlic and parsley butter: spread it onto a chappati - it's delicious!
