Spicy Fish Pakoras

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!



This recipe is for Spicy Fish Pakoras, and it is the way that my mother usually makes them. They can be eaten as a snack with tomato ketchup, or can even cooked with a curry sauce, and made into a curry!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Fresh Cod Fillets

2. Salt
3. Cumin Seeds
4. Ground Coriander
5. An Egg
6. Red Chilli Powder
7. Green Chillies
8. Cornflour
9. Plain Flour
10. Vegetable Oil
11. Lemon Juice

Bismillah, let's begin! 



Into a large bowl, place 1 pound cod fillets, sliced.



Add 1 teaspoon salt.



Add 2 teaspoons cumin seeds.



Add 1 teaspoon ground coriander.



Add 1 egg.




Add 1 teaspoon red chilli powder.




Add 2 green chillies, chopped.




Add 2 tablespoons cornflour, and 2 tablespoons plain flour.




Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.




Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice.




Stir until well combined, and leave to marinade preferably overnight.




Deep fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.




Serve warm with fresh lemon wedges!


Spicy Fish Pakoras

What You Need

1 pound Cod Fillets, sliced into chunks
1 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Cumin Seeds
1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
2 Green Chillies, chopped
2 tablespoons Cornflour
2 tablespoons Plain Flour
1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
Vegetable Oil, for deep-frying
Lemon Wedges, for serving

What To Do

1. Mix all the ingredients except the vegetable oil, for deep frying, and the lemon wedges. Marinade the fish overnight or for a few hours at least.


2. Heat the oil in a deep saucepan, and deep-fry the fish until golden brown and crispy. Serve with lemon wedges and chips.
