Chicken Spinach Burgers with Chilli Wedges

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Chicken Spinach Burgers with Chilli Wedges. If you are craving burgers and fries, but you want an easier and lighter version, then this is the recipe for you. The burgers are juicy and you'll feel good because you know exactly what went into them. The wedges are so quick to do - you won't believe it!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Onion
2. Garlic
3. Frozen Spinach
4. Breadcrumbs
5. Worcestershire Sauce
6. Olive Oil
7. Salt and Pepper
8. An Egg
9. Chicken Mince
10. Potatoes
11. Vegetable Oil
12. Red Chilli Powder
13. Burger Bun
14. Salad of your choice

Bismillah, let's start!

Into a large bowl, place 1/2 small grated onion and 1 grated garlic clove.

Add 4 ounces defrosted frozen spinach

Add 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs.

Add 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce.

Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Add 1 teaspoon olive oil.

Add 1 egg.

Add 1 pound chicken mince.

Mix everything well to combine.

Heat a few tablespoons vegetable oil in a pan, shape the mixture into patties, and fry until golden brown.

My mother covers the pan half way through cooking. She says this helps them cook through and stay moist.
Once the burgers are cooked, remove from the pan and keep warm whilst making the wedges.

Peel and slice 4 potatoes into wedges and place onto a plate.

Heat the wedges in the microwave for 7-8 minutes or until they are cooked through.

In a bowl, place 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.

Add salt and pepper, to taste

Add 1 teaspoon red chilli powder.

Stir to combine.

Add the wedges to the marinade and toss until evenly coated.

Heat a grill pan, add grill the wedges for a few minutes until golden brown.

Serve the burger in a bun with the salad and condiments you like, along with the wedges, and serve straight away!

Wasalaam!
