Homemade Pizza

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

A homemade pizza is the perfect solution to any kind of leftovers. My recipe for fresh pizza dough means that this has been made even easier for you, inshallah. You will not regret baking a pizza from scratch!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Onion
2. Crushed Garlic
3. Tin of Plum Tomatoes
4. Salt and Pepper
5. Italian Herb Mix
6. Dried Oregano
8. Any Leftover Meat or Vegetables (optional)
9. Fresh Jalapenos or any other topping of your choice
10. Cheese

Bismillah, let's start!

Preheat your oven to Gas Mark 6.

First, to make the base tomato sauce, saute 1 onion and 1 teaspoon of crushed garlic until softened.

Next, add 1 tin of plum tomatoes.

Add salt and pepper, to taste.

Add 1 teaspoon each of Italian herb mix and dried oregano.

Stir to combine and then bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

Allow the sauce to cool slightly before using.

To make the pizza, take my fresh pizza dough and roll out into a circle. You can keep the pizza as thick or thin as you like.

Place the pizza base on to an oven tray and bake on Gas Mark 6 for 10 minutes. The reason I do this is to ensure that the base is cooked fully before the topping goes on otherwise you'll end up with a soggy bottom!

Once the base is cooked, remove from the oven and spoon over the tomato sauce.

Next, add any leftover meat or vegetables of your choice. I used leftover minced chicken.

Next, add the extras of your choice. I added some sliced fresh jalapeno peppers.

Next, top with grated Cheddar cheese.

Finally, sprinkle with dried oregano. Bake the pizza at Gas Mark 6 for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Enjoy whilst hot.
