Homemade Ranch Dressing

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Homemade Ranch Dressing and it is a really versatile dressing that can be used on salads as well as a dip. One thing is for sure though - it's much better than the bottled stuff! To make it healthier, use low fat mayonnaise and low fat yoghurt.

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Garlic
2. Mayonnaise
3. Plain Yoghurt
4. Buttermilk
5. Parsley
6. Chives
7. Salt and Pepper
8. Dried Thyme

Bismillah, let's begin!

Peel one garlic clove ..

.. and crush it!

Add 1 cup (250ml) mayonnaise

Add 1/2 cup (125ml) plain yoghurt.

Add 1/4 cup (60ml) buttermilk. If you cannot get hold of buttermilk, mix equal parts of water and plain yoghurt and you have homemade buttermilk!

Whisk until smooth and combined.

Add 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley.

Add 3 teaspoon finely chopped chives. I didn't have fresh chives so I used dried.

Add 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme.

Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Whisk to combine, and serve! Serve on salads or as a dip with vegetable sticks or tortilla chips.

Wasalaam!
